This year’s design is part of the JW CNY series designed by Artist Jiang Shan based on the concept of a famous Chinese idiom:“文武双全” (EBT: Master of Pen & Sword), the 2 key traits of a good leader – Brains & Brawns.
Behind the Symbols:
1. Dragon: A representation of 諸葛亮 "ZhuGeliang", a well-known chinese, scholar, politician, military strategist, writer, engineer and inventor. His reputation as an intelligent and learned scholar earned him the nickname of “Crouching Dragon”.
2. Horse: A representation of GuanYu, a well-known military general. He which is known for his loyalty and righteousness and is often depicted with a Battle Knife and a Horse.
3. The design draws inspiration from the TaiChiQuan(Black & White symbols which represent the balance of Yin & Yang) which depicts the interaction between the Dragon & the Horse around the Slanted label. An intricate balance of Brains & Brawns, both important qualities of a good leader.
Tasting Notes
Palate: Assured, balanced and elegant, it has intriguing layers of intensity that are both surprising and delightful. Sweet honey and tempered spices come cloaked in warming smoke.
Nose: Citrus zest, ripened tropical fruits and caramel swirl within hints of tobacco and raisins.
Finish: The long, smooth, soothing finish is complex and fascinating - a myriad of influences played out over a subtle tapestry of peatiness.
